Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Pulaski officials announce the addition of Dr. Cara Riley to the medical staff.
“We were very fortunate to recruit the Rileys to Giles County and our hospital”, said hospital interim CEO, Harold Siglar. “Together they provide three medical specialties that our needed in our community. Dr. Cara Riley’s specialties are obstetrics, family medicine, and Dr. Derek Riley’s specialty is orthopaedics. I believe they and their children will be nice addition to this area both professionally and personally.”
Dr. Cara Riley completed undergraduate studies at the College of the Holy Cross and received her doctorate of osteopathy medicine from Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. She completed her osteopathic rotating internship at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnwood, Pennsylvania and her family medicine residency at Crozer Chester Health Network in Pennsylvania. Dr. Riley most recently finished her obstetrics fellowship at Spartanburg Regional medical Center in South Carolina where she received C-section and high risk obstetrics training.
Dr. Riley is the founder of the Crozer Family Residency Journal Club where residents present clinically original research to the group every two months. She has also organized a bimonthly New Mother’s support group, went to Guatemala where she volunteered in a community clinic, and volunteered for a remote access medical mission with the triage and women’s health unit.
“This hospital is committed to providing quality physicians who are dedicated professionals and Dr. Riley is no exception”, added Siglar. “She has had excellent training and education in her field and seems very excited to start her medical practice and become involved in the community.”
Dr.Riley is married to orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Derek Riley and they have two children. The Rileys are relocating this summer to Pulaski from Spartanburg, SC.
